Welcome to the home of GB7CD and GB7RB Digital Repeaters |
GB7CD (B) Was Wales first Licenced Icom D-star Repeater (user RX 439.700 – TX 430.700) it is based in Cardiff and launched in mid 2008. GB7RB (C) Became Wales second Icom D-Star Repeater ( user RX 145.675 – TX 145.075). The Repeater is sited in St Hilary (Cowbridge) and was installed June 2015 having previously been sited in Llantrisant and Brackla. As a visitor to this site, we hope you will find useful information about our repeaters. Our Aim is to promote Dstar*, within the Bristol Channel and South Wales Area, GB7CD & GB7RB reside within the IRCDDB Gateway network and can be found linked to DCS 135B Both repeaters allow full access to US Trust network of REF** Reflectors along with the DCS,XLX and others on the ircddb gateway network. Hotspot access is also possible by connecting your hotspots (MMDVM, BlueDV, etc, etc) to DCS135B We welcome all amateurs to use our repeaters across the network, but if we see repeated connections being made to busy reflectors for the aim of listening only, we may move the connection back to it’s default. Ham operators whom wish only to listen we recommend purchasing an MMDVM hotspot where you have freedom to choose your connection without tying up the whole network, or potentially burning out our PA section of the Radios with100% duty cycle of constant TX of all network traffic incoming to the repeater. **REF 001C and REF030C can become oversubscribed at busy times and may not allow connection to be made, this is the reflector owners restriction not one that we have control of, so be patient if the connection says “LINKING To” and try later** All are welcome, to access the Website and DV Repeaters. We also welcome donations towards the upkeep of the GB7CD and GB7RB Repeaters. |
We hope you have a pleasant experience whilst operating our repeaters, if you have any issues please contact us via the contact tab on this website.
Donations
Whether you have arrived here directly from this website, or via our RAYNET Group site cad.raynet.wales We appreciate your visit and consideration of donating to our cause. Like any voluntary organisation we need funding to keep our services running. Whilst it is not, and never will be, a requirement to donate to our group to use any of our services, we would kindly ask that you consider making a donation to assist with the upkeep of our network and support of our service provision. Donating can assist us in moving forward with technology and in turn provide you the user with more facilities or enable us to add enhancements to current services. You also support our public services in your donation as efficient equipment provides reliable communications support to our local communities of Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan in times of need. Everything comes at a cost and the ongoing costs of providing our services fall to our group without donations and support.. |
